The thesis topic is “The impact of the crisis on the welfare of the population of Russia”. Relevance of the topic is explained by a lack of studies on the phenomenon and the fact that Russian economy has not been able to fully recover from the crisis. The aim of the work is to evaluate a change in welfare of Russian population. A multidimensional approach is used to determine welfare. Thus, various factors from 9 aspects of people’s lives are considered. A linear trend is plotted for each factor based on its pre-crisis values and two indicators representing the deviation of the real post-crisis value from its theoretical post-crisis value and the deviation of the real post-crisis value from its real pre-crisis value are calculated. A conclusion about a direction of welfare change within one aspect is made based on the ratio of improved and worsened factors. A conclusion about welfare change of Russian population in general is made based on the ratio of improved and worsened aspects.
