Annotation In this paper, the ways of living psychological phenomena, freedom and responsibility in art were considered. In addition, the study identified specific types of freedom, non-compliance and responsibility in relation to the individual, as well as the role of the personal structure of the performer "I-the viewer" in the boundaries between freedom and duty in the artistic work. In addition to the topic being studied, the characteristics of the concepts “performance” and “contemporary art” are highlighted, based on the principles of living and understanding of their field of activity by performance artists.
