Perception of the Problems of Doing Business by Real and Potential Participants in the Agricultural Sector in Russia

Educational Programme: Sociology (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2019

After the sanctions were imposed and Russia took the path of import substitution, agriculture became one of the most strategically important segments of the country's economy. However, despite intense macro-rhetoric regarding the agricultural sector, it is still not clear what industry participants actually think about the current state of agriculture. The goal of this research is to find out how participants of the agricultural sector, namely, Russian farmers, perceive problems of the business and estimate its current state. The method of collecting data implies using a quantitative online survey based on the CRM database of an all-Russian thematic business magazine. We expect to find out how industry participants perceive the problems in doing business in the agricultural sector and how they estimate its current state. The obtained results will enable the subsequent comparison of the existing micro-rhetoric with the macro-rhetoric on the state level.
