Job Satisfaction and Work-Related Motivation of Aviation Security Agents: Empirical Evidence from Ghana

Aviation security has become critical in recent years due to the influences has on our lives in a diversity of ways. Workers of the industry must be motivated to achieve job satisfaction. Employee satisfaction is a basis for improving productivity at work. It is on this ground the researchers seek to investigate job satisfaction of aviation security agents (Profilers) at Kotoka International Airport (KIA), Accra-Ghana. To find out determinants of their job satisfaction and suggest possible ways to improve their job satisfaction. Quantitative method was used for the data analyses. The questions that guide the study are: 1. What factors influence job satisfaction among profilers in KIA? 2. How does motivation affect job satisfaction of profilers? 3. Will gender, age, experience and position of profilers predict level of job satisfaction? The findings show Profilers at KIA are satisfied with their job. It also shows motivation and job satisfaction have positive correlations. The study revealed gender, age, experience and position predict job satisfaction. However, Profilers suggested few measures management should put in place to improve their job satisfaction.
