Roles of the City Portal in the Local Media Environment

Local news is important for the functioning of local communities and the engagement of citizens in local democracies. This study examines city portals as one type of local media. The objective of the study is to give a theoretical and empirical definition of the city portal. The practical part of the research is based on the case study of the city portal of Chelyabinsk (74.ru).
