The work is devoted to the study of the evolution of views on the phenomenon of countertransference in the work of psychoanalysts, as well as its application in practical work in psychological practice and coaching. The object of the research is selected works of famous psychoanalysts - the founders of their own schools and directions. Also, as an illustration, many examples from clinical practice were used in the work. The relevance of the study is due to the ambiguity of views on the nature of the practice of the psychoanalyst and use, or vice versa, the identification and subsequent exclusion of countertransference from it. Nevertheless, developing your own attitude towards this phenomenon in the work of the analyst is necessary.
