Today, many governments understand that the majority of citizens, and therefore potential consumers, have gone online. It is more difficult to track offenses and tax deductions, and therefore it is easier to circumvent the law. The music industry is part of the economy of impressions, and now it has moved to the digital environment almost entirely. This means that music production falls on a medium that is not heavily regulated by law. Now the music is almost completely transferred to the online platform of music distributors. Moreover, due to the transition to online platforms, most of the products began to spread through piracy. This study will focus on the market of the music industry. The paper will analyze cases related to large, medium and small companies that provide streaming listening services. By confirming or refuting the two hypotheses about the digital music market, the author will present recommendations on market regulation.
