Education in Russia until 1917

In my project, “The Image of Student: Uniforms of European and American Institutions of the 20th Century,” I wanted to make out the educational component of the life of a student in higher education, its culture and life. Since the topic of my graduation project “Education in Russia before 1917”, the purpose of my visual research is to study the image of a student of a different culture for further comparison. To clarify the essence of such a notion “student”, to consider in detail the period of study, its official and academic part, the appearance and behavior of the student outside the school. To collect a base on the representation of the image of the student for further work with the theme of the graduation project. To begin the study were selected well-known universities that have a rich history. Students of elite educational institutions have a special image, which is expressed both in their appearance and behavior. To work on this project, we studied the official websites of educational institutions and thematic blogs with archival photos. After the analysis of the basic material, it can be seen that the image of the student differs depending on the culture of the country and a certain time frame.
