Specifics of Activities of Islamic Banks in the United Kingdom and Malaysia in the Post-Crisis Period

The issue of Islamic banking has been much discussed by scholars due to the rapid expansion of Islamic banks over the last 10 years. States are gradually beginning to realize that in order to ensure national financial stability and remain competitive, it is necessary to allow operations of Islamic banks. After the financial crisis 2008-2009 several non-Muslim countries changed their legislature in order to allow activities of Islamic banks. In the present study, we will attempt to find out whether there are differences in post-crisis activities of Islamic banks in the United Kingdom and Malaysia or not. A comprehensive survey will be conducted to build a block of factors to be put into analysis which would be useful to describe and assess Islamic banks’ of post-crisis activities.
