Monetization of Content Rights in the Business Model of Music Labels in Russia

This study is devoted to the development of the music industry in Russia. The author provides a general characteristic of domestic music labels with a description of all the main elements of their business models. ABC-XYZ analysis helps to consider the structure of revenues from licensing music label content, which makes it possible to predict future revenues and propose recommendations for more effective monetization of content rights in the company's business model. The study confirmed the hypothesis that content licensing has the fastest growing share of revenues in the overall income structure of Russian music labels, as well as the fact that the music-streaming model replaces the music transfer model and occupies the largest market share.
