The objective of this study is to examine the influence of socioeconomic status and health behavior of parents on healthy lifestyle practices of teenagers. On the one hand, according to Bourdieu, class circumstances strongly affect personal beliefs, practices and healthy lifestyle choices. On the other hand, social environment factors may also have strong influence on teenager`s healthy lifestyle, that`s why we also took into account influence of peers, peculiarities of educational organization and place of living (sociotype). Data were obtained from RLMS-HSE. The sample consists of 1284 teenagers (aged 14-16) living with parents or grandparents. As a result, socioeconomic circumstances have no significant effect on healthy lifestyle practices of teenagers. However health-risk behaviors (smoking, excessive drinking, obesity) and sports activities of parents have significant influence on healthy lifestyle of children. In addition results showed significant association between type of educational organization and health-risk behavior of teenagers what also can be regarded as peer influence.
