Lobbying activity has become matter of great concern for the global community as in developed countries it has become a very influential political institution over the past decades. Nevertheless, lobbying activities today are perceived by the world community ambiguously. This ambiguity has caused many contradictions among the representatives of the most countries about the level of influence of lobbyist activity on contemporary foreign policy. Despite the fact that many scholars examined the mechanisms of political influence represented by interest groups, general problems of scientific researches on lobbying activities exist and are expressed in the absence of anintegrated approach to lobbyism as a political phenomenon. This research aims to define the role of lobbyist activities inworsening Russian-American relations due to the Ukrainian conflict and the imposition of mutual bilateral sanctions. To achieve this aim, such methods will be used, as content-analysis, event-analysis, systematic approach, functional method, casestudy, comparative and institutional analyses. Our study may be of use to extend the knowledge of processes affecting the foreign policy of both the United States and Russia, which may be valuable for the future researches.
