The work is devoted to the study of the scientific activity of S. B. Veselovskiy (1876-1952) related to auxiliary historical disciplines. The paper analyzes the formation of his scientific interests in this field, his theoretical and methodological views, as well as the perception of his researches in these disciplines in the 1960s-1990s.
