Born-global companies in different sectors of business operations became more and more popular with an interesting twist of companies that build up a two-sided platform in which a user can benefit from the platform by the provided service and at the same time any person can as well create an additional income stream to either replace it by their current full-time job or to earn an extra amount of cash. This applies to a very newly introduced so-called ride-hailing industry, in which the pioneer is Uber Technologies Incorporated. Nevertheless, does a completely unfamiliar way of doing business encounter either excitement or vice versa, resistance with all the power that can stand against it. Uber has been intendedly chosen as the focus of this research paper due to them being the epitome of ride-hailing and the first to reach beyond national boundaries in numerous countries. On the example of Uber, the reader can exploit crucial information in the quest to operate in multiple countries, and especially emerging markets at the same time with the advantages and disadvantages that come along with it.
