Specifics of Student Fiction Films Productions in the United States (Case of the Film “Qualify”, Drama)

This thesis describes the main trends in the field of cinema and the place of drama as a genre among all other genres, also tells about the roles of a producer on a film set, as well as narrates about the experience of producing short student films in the United States of America during exchange semester that happened within the fall semester at George Mason University, Fairfax County, Virginia. For four months the author of this paper was able to start as an production assistant, then got experience at co-producing films, after that produced two short films on her own. This work contains all the experience gained during the process of training and practice on film sets, also describes the process of producing one particular short student film entitled "Qualify" (drama), the plot of which tells the story of a migrant who is a good doctor and has the education and certificates of his country but he does not have legal permission to work in the United States by profession.
