The Influence of Competitive Strategy Type of Retail Companies on Dividend Policy

This study assumes, that competitive strategies can affect dividend policy of the company. The research was implemented on the public retail companies located in Asian developed countries in a period from 2009 to 2018. The results of the study show, that companies with differentiation type of competitive strategies tend to pay more dividends per shares, than leaders in costs. Moreover, it was found that size, profitability and revenue growth have the positive relation with dividend payments. At the same time, leverage has the negative impact on dividend payments. This study has theoretical as well as the practical implementation. It can help to the researchers to better understand the relation between competitive strategy and dividend policy. Also, it can be useful for investors while deciding which investment is going to be more profitable.
