Situational and Personal Factors of Moral Dilemmas Solving

Moral dilemmas are vital parts of living social life. It is known that situational factors, as well as personal factors, can influence decision making and, consequently, may influence the process of making moral judgments . The purpose of this study is to examine the personal and situational factors associated with the solution of moral dilemmas. The level of emotional intelligence is according to the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso model is considered as a personal factor, and various instructions relating to time are considered as situational. The results did not confirm the existence of a link between different time conditions, the level of emotional intelligence and the solution of moral dilemmas. In future studies of the influence of emotional intelligence and time on the solution of moral dilemmas, it is recommended to pay attention not only to the judgment itself, but also to the process of making it, as well as to study in more detail the connection between the type of moral dilemma and its solution.
