Educational Programme: Philosophy (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2019

The purpose of this thesis is the analysis of the influence of technology on the emergence and development of a total state. Technique is considered from the standpoint of political philosophy. The main thesis is that technology is an essential factor of the formation of a total state, since it is the cause of the emergence of an environment of total control and manipulation. Technique also adversely affects politics, causing the degradation of democracy, and, thus, also participates in the formation of a total state. The paper also presents a critical analysis of the political potential of modern technologies, which also turn out to be an essential element of the total state. The work is based on the texts of G. Markuze, F.G. Jünger, E. Jünger, M. Foucault, J. Deleuze, M. Weber, and C. Schmitt.
