The present research considers the theological and philosophical ideas is the strategies of legitimization and representation of royal power in 18th century Russian Empire during the reigns of Elizabeth Petrovna and Catherine the Great. The study is based on the investigation of the texts of sermons published in this historical period. The research fills the gaps and supplements the information on strategies of legitimization and representation of monarchs in the 18th century Russia, obtained by Russian and foreign investigators during the examination of other types of sources.
