Final Grade: 8

Year of Graduation: 2019

This graduation work is devoted to investigation of maritime transport’s work using methods of simulation modelling. To improve the performance of maritime transport, it is necessary to increase its stability by overcoming the negative impact of an unstable external environment, which is caused by many factors: a growth in passenger traffic and intensity of ship operations on routes, changes in fleet composition, routes and the changing role of passenger terminals. The global competition of companies and the struggle for passenger traffic necessitate the formation of an optimal organization of the maritime transport system and the adoption of competent management decisions. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a description of the ferry networks, aspects of their construction and environmental factors that affect them. The object of the study is the Baltic region with its network of cruise and ferry routes. The main goal of the research is to obtain the model for organizing ferry and cruise lines for investigation of transport efficiency in the region. This model will enable to provide new solutions for strategic management. Keywords: marine terminal, cruise lines, ferry lines, simulation modeling, Baltic sea.
