Electron-Wave Interaction in Microwave Devices on Periodic Waveguides of Millimeter-Wavelength Range

Student: Nikitina Elena

Supervisor: Sergei A. Khritkin

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Infocommunication Technologies and Systems (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 9

Year of Graduation: 2019

The diploma paper is aimed to the dispersion characteristics of the folded waveguide. It contains an overview of existing research in this area, discussions the main provisions of the electron-wave interaction and the equations by which it is described. The method of equivalent circuit, which replace the winding waveguide, is applied. As a result of the work, the nonlinear interaction of the electron beam and the electromagnetic field of the folded waveguide was calculated. The "hot" dispersion characteristics of the folded waveguide are obtained, in contrast to other works, where only "cold" characteristics are calculated. Also, the relationship of the interaction coefficient and the interaction impedance is founded, the last one was obtained by 3D modeling, using them program CST Studio Suite. The graphical representation of this dependence was obtained using the MATLAB software package. The diploma paper includes 62 pages, 44 illustrations, 1 supplement, 15 sources used.
