The Impact of Money Grant to Attraction the Follow-on Investment in Russian IT Companies

The current research is aimed to study how the grants received by IT startups affect their further fundraising. Grants account for a large proportion of all venture capital investments in Russia. The grantors are completely different structures: state venture funds, individuals, corporate venture funds, and so on. This paper answers the question of whether the grant size influences the subsequent funding. And is it important for investors who gave a grant? The considered sample of 1825 observations allows giving a positive answer to this question.
