Statistical Study of Regional Differentiation in the Development of the Russian Insurance Market

his study is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the insurance market in Russia and the identification of factors affecting the degree of differentiation of regional markets. The first part of the study provides an overview of scientific research of Russian and foreign experts, the analysis of the time series of the main insurance indicator, the main trends and features of the insurance of the Russian insurance market. In the second part of the study, using the methods of correlation and regression analysis and the method of the main components, identified socio-economic factors and indicators affecting the development of regional insurance markets. In the third part, using the methods of cluster and discriminant analysis, index method and distribution analysis, the classification of subjects of the Russian Federation into 3 groups with significant differences in the level of development of the insurance market and other socio-economic indicators is carried out and the degree of differentiation between them is measured. In this study, a comprehensive analysis of the problem of differentiation in the development of insurance at the level of regions and Federal districts, identified the key factors of development and classification of regions by the level of development of the insurance market.
