Statistical Study of Life Insurance in Russia at the Macro and Microlevels

This work is devoted to a comprehensive statistical study of life insurance in Russia in its subjects at the macro level, taking into account the influence of the main macroeconomic, demographic indicators and indicators of living standards, as well as the study of life insurance in Russia at the micro level: analysis of the insurance portfolio of one of the companies in the country. The first Chapter identifies the main trends of life insurance in the world and Russia, growth drivers and causes that prevent the global and Russian market from growing faster, analyzes scientific articles and methods of life insurance research. The second Chapter is an analysis of the factors affecting the density of life insurance in Russia - one of the main indicators used in world studies. The subjects of the Russian Federation are divided into homogeneous groups and in each of them regression models are built that determine the factors that influence the development of life insurance. The spatial correlation in the density of life insurance in the subjects and the presence of convergence are revealed. In addition, the portfolio of life insurance contracts of one of the insurance companies is analyzed to determine the main characteristics of policyholders and insured event, as well as to identify factors affecting their loss. The third Chapter is devoted to the construction of time models and forecasting the density of life insurance in Russia on the basis of the best model. The long-term and short-term influence of external factors on the development of life insurance is studied. The study identified factors that have a positive and negative impact on the level of development of the market of life insurance of the country and its subjects. These results can be used to build an optimal strategy for the development of the Russian insurance market.
