The study presents several stories related to Chekhov's work in the newspaper "Novoye Vremya" and his relationship with Burenin and Suvorin. These relations have become material for Chekhov's creativity in some aspects. The authors of the study attempted to analyze and interpret the mechanisms of interaction on the example of the play by A.S. Suvorin "Tatiana Repina" and Chekhov's continuation of this play, as well as the development of Chekhov's poetry of Nadson, implemented in the novel "Drama on the Hunt". In addition, the authors study the attitude of Burenin to the work of Nadson and Chekhov, which was reflected in his numerous reviews. All this makes it possible to see and understand the literary situation in which Chekhov was immersed, working with the newspaper "Novoye Vremya".
