This study is devoted to analysis of legal regulation of creation and use of films as audiovisual works. The topicality of this issue is due to the fact that currently audiovisual products are of highest demand among the audience in the entertainment industry. The high relevance of these products determines the need for special legal regulation of the creation and use of audiovisual works. Creative and technical work of a large number of people is involved in the process of film creation, each of them acts as the creator of a separate element. Ensuring a balance of interests between the participants in the film industry is one of the directions of legal regulation in this sphere. Another direction is establishing a regime of lawful use regime that would meet the interests of both rightholders and the audience. Under conditions of rapidly developing information technologies, illegal copying and distribution of works is performed everywhere. In this regard it is necessary to take measures, not only in order to punish violators, but also in order to prevent such offenses.
