In this paper, we will pay attention to this period of the life of the Basel doctor, when the young Plter reformed medical knowledge in Basel and introduced the new teaching of Vesalius, a practical method of studying medicine. To do this, we consider the state of the Basel Medical Faculty to Platter, then the formation of our hero as a doctor in the Montpellier period, and then we return to the Basel period. In the Basel life of Platter, we will focus on the structure of the University of Basel: the position of dean at the university, the importance of the position of dean of the faculty, then the work of Platter as dean of the faculty and teacher of practical medicine, we turn to his students and colleagues who worked with him, their views on medicine. We will try to determine what Platter did in order to bring the medical faculty of Basel to a new level and put it on a par with other leading European medical schools.
