Final Grade: 9

Year of Graduation: 2019

This final qualified work (the thesis) is related to a quantum random number generator and is aimed at studying the principle of operation and its key elements. Random numbers are highly relevant due to their widespread use in the modern world. An in-depth study of the scientific literature made it possible to understand and describe the importance of random numbers and their origin, emphasizing the need to preserve confidentiality using cryptography. Consideration and comparison of the classical and quantum generator based on physical particles, produced definitely positive and also negative aspects in the use of this or that generator, but testing is still required, because the current "purity" of number generators does not correspond to real randomness. The removal of experimental data and the calculation of losses with the construction of graphs and two-dimensional contour maps will allow you to select the optimal characteristics of the delay line for a quantum generator. The correct choice of DL (delay line) parameters will create conditions for generating random numbers with minimal losses.
