Creating an Application that Automatically Scrolls down Guitar Tab as the User Plays the Guitar

The aim of this research is to create a desktop application that can help novice guitar players to learn new songs. While the user plays the guitar, the application should process the audio input from a microphone and scroll down the guitar tablature according to speed of the user. Using the Fourier transform the application should identify notes in the sound, which allows it to detect the exact place in the tablature that the user is currently playing.
