It was found that universities, where you can get an education of a media manager, exist in many large cities of Russia. Nevertheless, the programs in this area are very different from each other. It can be seen that over the past decade, there has been a lot of progress in the country, new programs appear every year, but higher education in media management is still in the development stage. In the empirical part of the work, the authors described four of the studied master programs in the field of media management at the HSE (“Management in the Media”), the joint program of the RANEPA and MSSSEN (“Media Management”), Moscow State University (“Theory and Economics of Digital Media”) and DSTU (“Media Production and content management ”and“ Media Management ”) for the years 2015-2018, as well as the features of career trajectories of graduates of these programs were identified and analyzed. The research hypothesis was only partially confirmed. The features of career trajectories of graduates of master programs in the field of media management partially converge, partially differ.
