Day after day we're observing this scene – typical and monotonous items of clothing are overflowing the mass-market shelves – and people are generally inclined not to stand out by means of this first ever accessible instrument of modernity – the costume. The average clothing shop offers the customers the mundane and trivial forms – which seems very unusual that in the wake of the greatest technological advances people are choosing the forms which were developed during the previous century. Surely, fashion designers of 20th century attempted to «refresh» fashion, yet we've got to bear in mind that the tern «mass-market» did not yet existed back then, and the practice of fulfilling the needs of the great numbers of customers was not that prevailent. This research was aimed to analyze the reasons behind the historical trends that framed the whole evolution of fashion from the late 19th till today – in order to create my own brand of clothing with a focus on the experimental futurustic forms. Thus, the goals of the research were to analyse the history of fashion and conduct a research on its visual aspects.
