The study presents the knowledge structure of research on diffusion of innovations using co-word and network analysis of the research domain. The data was obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection for the period 2013-2017. The underlying knowledge structure of the “diffusion of innovations” field as it emerged in the present study is rather diverse. We conclude that Organizational studies, Economics, Social and Political Sciences both contribute to, and source from the diffusion literature the most. Rural Sociology also emerged as a separate discipline. The most attention is directed at adoption of new technologies, particularly in the energy sector, and policy diffusion and implementation. The key players in the field are China and the US.
