The Impact of Students’ Financial Literacy on Their Confidence in Financial Institutions

The master's thesis was carried out within the framework of the «Education Management» program in the direction «State and municipal management». The work is dedicated to identify the relationship between the level of financial literacy of students and the degree of their trust in financial institutions. The object of the study is the trust of students in financial institutions. Subject of study is the impact of students' financial literacy on their trust in financial institutions. The essence of the concepts of “trust” and “financial literacy” has been clarified. types of trust and methods for measuring it are identified. A trust in financial institutions index has been developed. The goals and results of financial education programs are analyzed. The methods of measuring financial literacy are analyzed. The presence of a correlation between the index of financial literacy of students and the index of their trust in financial institutions is determined. A set of complementary methods was used: analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, comparison, questionnaires and statistical data processing methods.
