Traditional Knowledge as An Object of Intellectual Property: Legal Regulation and Enforcement

Graduation qualification work: «Traditional Knowledge as an Object of Intellectual Property: Legal Regulation and Enforcement». The subject of research is the analysis of traditional knowledge and the problem their regulation as an object of intellectual property. The purpose of the work is development of regulation traditional knowledge in the Russian Federation The definition is formulated in the chapter one. It is based on analysis by doctrine of suggested definition. Also, the criteria are determined for division on kinds. The second chapter contains the assessment of ability to adapt existing institutes of intellectual property in order to protect traditional knowledge. The third chapter reveals the conception of new regulation traditional knowledge suggested by author. It is suggested the conceptions of sui generis regime of traditional knowledge as an object of intellectual property. The results of the work have perspectives of application. They provide indigenous peoples living in the territory of the Russian Federation with intellectual property law in order to protect their unique traditional knowledge.
