This work is devoted to one of the most relevant topics of the science of labor law, which is called "Material responsibility: theory and practice of legal regulation". In this paper we have studied the fundamentally important aspects of the Institute of employee financial responsibility: the concept of legal liability, the concept of material liability, types of material liability of the employee, the condition for the occurrence of material liability of the employee. The problems of collecting material damage from an employee and its procedure were also analyzed. The conclusions that are crucial for the research are made.
