The purpose of this work is two-folded; firstly to show how the study of nationalism could provide insights into the theory of constructivism in IR. Second is to provide the framework for tracing Russian national identity in the context of nationalism. This is done through a discourse analysis of Vladimir Putin's speeches and the case study of Crimea reintegration.
