Joint investment is a process that brings together several individuals to create and develop investment projects. This is an association of domestic and foreign investors to form joint ventures. The implementation of joint investments is possible with various types of products. For example, in Russia this may be based on a simple partnership or an investment partnership agreement. One of the forms of collective or joint investment is investment funds and joint ventures. A large number of questions have been raised in Russian legal literature regarding the legal nature of relations between shareholders and management companies of investment funds, regulation of investment relations complicated by a foreign element. However, it is worth noting that due attention was not paid to the status of investment funds and joint ventures in private international law. This work is devoted to the analysis of the legal status of investment funds in Russia, investment companies in the USA, collective investment organizations in the European Union and their comparison. The work also examines and analyzes the legal status and creation of joint ventures in practice in Russia, the USA and the EU.
