The purpose of this paper is to determine the impact of US policy on the prospects for cooperation between Russia and the European Union in the gas sector. Russia and the European Union are important players in the global gas market, as Russia is the largest supplier of natural gas to the European Union, while the EU is the main export destination for Russian fuel. The transformation of the energy policy of the European Union has a significant impact on cooperation with Russia, while the US policy and increasing volumes of American LNG cause additional changes in the global gas market.
