The Impact of the Migration Crisis on the Development of Migration Policy of the European Union

This study will explore the migration policy of the European Union during the ongoing migration crisis. In terms of its scope, consequences and duration, European migration crisis is unique for the history of Europe. Such a noticeable social phenomenon has attracted a considerable research interest. This research is going to focus on the little-studied aspect of the migration policy of the European Union, particularly on the correlation between two formats of these policy: national and supranational. In order to examine this correlation we will use comparative method. The data will be collected via web sites of the European Parliament, the European Commission and International Organization for Migration where there is all the necessary information about national and European legislation. In this research there will be presented a profound comparative analysis of most national and supranational legal acts adopted before the migration crisis and the acts taken during the crisis on both levels, national and supranational. This analysis will help to fully explore the nature of the migration policy of the European Union, which is considered to be the most advanced integration group in the world.
