Socio-Cultural Role of the Institutes of the Monarchy in Japan

This paper describes the history of the establishment of the institution of the monarchy in Japan, from ancient times to the present day, and traces how its role and influence changed throughout history. The main positions of the emperor in the two Constitutions of Japan are also considered: Meiji and modern. A survey among the Japanese was conducted to identify the general picture of the opinion of the inhabitants of Japan about the Imperial Institute and to analyze its potential future.
