Nowadays the problem of detention of women in Russia remains taboo. This issue is not given enough attention on television, in radio programs and in newspapers. Society protects itself from former prisoners, so it is difficult for them to find a job and restore social binds. Most often, women in the first year after their release commit a crime again. The significant problem remains the lack of post-prison resocialization programs at the legislative level. Former women prisoners need social adaptation, which is carried out in Russia by charitable organizations and social rehabilitation centers. The paper will ponder upon the issue of post-prison resocialization of women in Russia. To expand the topic unique, the special report was filmed in Mozhaisk prison for women №5, the charitable organization «Sitting Russia», and the Aurora social rehabilitation center for former women prisoners. A series of portrait interviews was conducted with women who are serving their sentences and those who have already been released, as well as a series of expert interviews with a psychologist, a job-placement expert of former women prisoners, and a social worker. Our special report can be useful to journalists, for women who have been released from prisons and their families.
