Student: Kosintseva Taisiya

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Journalism (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2020

The purpose of this final qualification work is to trace the transformation of censorship practices in the Russian cultural industries. To achieve this goal, we have completed a number of tasks. In the first Chapter, devoted to the concept of censorship and its history, we defined the concept of the term "censorship" and traced the continuity and traditions of the censorship regime in Russia and the USSR. We also studied the nature of the relationship between the Russian mass media and censorship in various periods of our state's existence. In the second Chapter, devoted to the political side of censorship in the Russian cultural industries, we studied various aspects of legal regulation of mass media and examined the relationship between government and journalism. We reviewed the methods, methods and tools of censorship in the Russian media. In the third Chapter, devoted to "Soviet" censorship in modern Russia, we examined cases of "Soviet" censorship in the Russian media and cases with the cancellation of concerts by Russian artists. The hypothesis of this work: "in our country, censorship practices used during the Soviet era are used", according to the results of the study, was only partially confirmed.
