Brand and Company's Financial Performance: the Role of Board Characteristics

Previous studies have indicated that brand influences company financial performance but have not yet examined the role of management features in this relationship. The present research investigates the combined effect of board characteristics and brand value on company financial performance, which is return on assets, return on equity, enterprise value, and Tobin’s Q. The study is conducted on a panel dataset of, approximately, 45 companies of emerging countries during the period from 2014 to 2018. This research relies on fixed effect estimation method. The results indicate that there is a synergetic interaction between brand value and work experience in companies of developed countries which increase Tobin’s Q. In addition, there is study shows a negative combined effect of the share of females on the board and brand value on enterprise value.
