In the latest European Parliament elections held in May 2019 European Greens (EGP) has made major gains. However, earlier this party was not so popular among the electorate and had less political weight in the European Parliament (EP). Consequently, there is little research on the activities of the European Green Party and the causes of the growing popularity of it in the EU. This study aims to explore how the role of European Greens in EU politics has changed since 1984 when this party was first represented in the European Parliament. In this research, we will also focus on the activity of environmental parties and its results at the national level and at the supranational level - in the European Parliament.
