Student: Ivanova Anastasiia

Supervisor: Oleg Dmitriev

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Media Management (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2020

The study originates in the contradiction between the media industry and the education of media professionals. Based on this contradiction, the author asks questions: what method of advanced training of media professionals corresponds to the modern challenges of the media industry? What development trends have been observed in the training of media professionals over the past few years? Major changes in the field of education in recent years (December-May 2020), both at the global and federal levels, have occurred as a result of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the threat of the spread of COVID-19, Russian educational institutions have been reformed to distance learning. The author explores how the situation has affected different types of professional development systems: additional professional education, online training and professional festivals and forums for media professionals.
