Promotion of "One belt - one road" policy in Central Asia and Eastern Europe: comparative analysis

This study is devoted to a comparative analysis of the promotion of the “One Belt and One Road” initiative in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. The relevance of the work is due to the increased interest in the potential of the BRI for changing the global economy. In order to carry out a comprehensive comparative analysis of the promotion of BRI in two regions, the main provisions of the initiative were established, the general problems of its implementation were considered, an analysis of investment cooperation between the PRC and the countries of Central Asia and Eastern Europe was carried out, specific economic and political problems of promoting BRI in these regions were identified, and a comparative analysis of the regions in terms of economic indicators, investment cooperation with the PRC, indices of interfacing with the BRI and other statistical indicators. As a result of the study, a general model for the promotion of BRI was revealed using the example of the Central Asia and Eastern Europe consisting in a high level of adaptation of Chinese business to the different economic and political conditions of the countries participating in the initiative.
