The Discursive Portrait of Donald Trump in the American Press

The controversial figure of Donald trump constantly attracts a lot of attention and gives rise to different studies that are devoted to his image, speech portrait, communication style, etc. However, despite the fact that the 45th President of the United States has been an object of scrutiny for many years, there is still no research dedicated to the image of D. Trump, constructed in the media. This research aims to identify and analyze certain strategies and tactics used by influential American newspapers to form certain images of Donald Trump. To conduct a profound analysis, we intend to apply critical discourse analysis and work with 70 articles form various major American newspapers: The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today.
