The representation of female images in modern culture is an essential research topic, since the position of women in modern society is undergoing changes, and cinema and literature naturally respond to these changes. Modern cinema of China and Taiwan is a little-studied topic in both Russian and foreign oriental studies. The thesis discusses methods for representing the image of women in films shot in China and Taiwan between 2010 and 2019. The main goal of the work is to determine the similarities and differences in the cinemas of the two countries. The work was performed using gender studies, materials on the history of cinema in China and Taiwan, research works on cinema of both countries, as well as on the basis of an independent analysis of films watched.
