Evolution of Women's Rights in the Republic of Korea During the Sixth Republic

This work raises the issue of the development of gender law in the Republic of Korea in the period from 1988 to the present. The aim of the work was to determine the trends in the development of women's rights in the years of the Sixth Republic, as well as changes in the status of women, through the prism of the adopted laws. To do this, we analyzed some articles of the civil code of the Republic of Korea, as well as the website of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. They also studied the works of English-language and Korean authors who deal with gender issues in the Republic of Korea. The study is expected to identify trends in the development of gender law and identify changes in the social status of women in the Republic of Korea.
