Currently, the global economic environment is characterized by a rapid pace of transformation. As a result, existing business cycle theories are no longer able to explain real processes in the world economy. Thus, there is a need to analyze the factors that affect cyclical fluctuations since the beginning of the XXI century. One of these factors may be the dynamics of purchases of durable goods. The purpose of this study is to identify the role of changes in demand for durable goods in developed countries on cyclical fluctuations in their economy, as well as to determine the factors that affect the demand for durable goods.
